Scan a code on your screen
- Open OnScreen QR and complete the privacy explanation.
- Allow overlay access when Android asks for it.
- Approve MediaProjection screen access for the current scan session.
- Open the app or screen containing the QR code or supported barcode.
- Tap the floating scanner, position the selection region, and tap Scan.
- Review the result before copying, sharing, or using an explicit action.
Scan an image
Choose Scan Image from the app, select an image from the gallery, or share an image to OnScreen QR. The selected image is processed locally for the scan attempt. The app does not upload the image.
Create a QR code
Open Create QR, choose a content type, enter the required values, review the preview, then choose Save, Copy, or Share. Generated payloads stay inert until you choose an action. Basic creation supports links, text, Wi-Fi, phone, email, SMS, contacts, locations, and social profiles.
If scanning does not start
- Confirm overlay access is enabled for OnScreen QR in Android Settings.
- Confirm MediaProjection was approved for the current session.
- Try a larger, sharper region with the complete code visible.
- Protected or DRM-controlled content may not be capturable.
- Stop and start the scanner again if Android has ended the foreground service.
- Restart the app after changing permissions or after a device-level battery restriction.
Billing, restore, and cancellation
Monthly and Annual subscriptions are managed in Google Play. Lifetime is a one-time purchase. Use Restore Purchases after changing devices or reinstalling with the same Google account. A purchase can take a short time to verify.
To cancel, open Google Play subscriptions, select OnScreen QR, and follow the cancellation steps. Cancellation stops future renewal but normally does not refund the current period.
