OnScreen QR Scanner & Generator

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 19, 2026

This policy describes how OnScreen QR Scan & Generator processes information. The app is published by Quantum Xcell (Evaxes). Privacy questions and requests: [email protected]

What the app does

OnScreen QR helps you scan QR codes and supported barcodes already visible on an Android screen. It also provides local image scanning, QR creation, QR Library, history, favorites, sharing, and optional Pro features. Basic use does not require an account or cloud sync.

Screen and image content

When you start Screen Scan, Android asks for explicit MediaProjection consent. The app captures only the visible screen region needed for the scan and runs barcode recognition on the device. Basic screen frames and cropped images are released after processing and are not uploaded or saved by the app.

Gallery images and images shared to the app are processed locally for the scan attempt and are not uploaded by the app. Android protected content, FLAG_SECURE surfaces, and denied permissions remain unavailable; the app does not bypass Android security controls.

Scan results, QR projects, and history

Decoded values may contain URLs, contact details, Wi-Fi credentials, locations, payment text, or other user-generated content. Free scan results are available for the current session. Verified Pro users can persist scan history locally; the app encrypts persistent history with Android Keystore-backed protection.

Generated QR projects, favorites, and QR Library records are stored locally according to the active Free or Pro limits. The app does not upload decoded values, QR payloads, screen frames, or gallery images for analytics.

You can delete individual results or projects, clear local history, and remove local app data through Android. Uninstalling the app removes its local storage, subject to Android device and backup behavior. Sharing happens only after your explicit action through the Android system chooser.

Permissions and device access

  • Overlay access: displays and moves the scanner bubble above the current app.
  • MediaProjection consent: captures the selected screen region.
  • Foreground service and notifications: keep active capture visible and stoppable while Screen Scan is running.
  • Camera access: requested only when you choose the optional camera-scanning workflow; the camera is not used for Screen Scan.
  • Vibration: provides optional scan feedback.

The app does not use AccessibilityService for screen capture or automation.

Advertising

The app may display Google Mobile Ads on its own Flutter surfaces. Ads do not appear in the floating scanner overlay or over another app. Where required, Google User Messaging Platform requests advertising consent. Available privacy choices can be revisited from Settings. Verified Pro users do not see app-owned ads after entitlement is active.

Google Mobile Ads may process advertising identifiers, device and app information, IP address or approximate location, ad request data, interactions, and diagnostics according to its configuration, consent state, and policies. See Google Mobile Ads privacy guidance and Google partner-site information.

Purchases and verification

Digital Pro purchases use Google Play Billing. Google Play processes payment information under its own terms and privacy policy. Purchase state may be sent to a trusted verification service so durable Pro access is not granted from a client-only flag. Purchase tokens are not written to app logs or analytics.

The verifier receives only the purchase information needed to validate product, ownership, and entitlement state. It does not receive screen frames, scan payloads, QR images, or contact data.

Sharing and external actions

The app does not automatically open URLs, call phone numbers, join Wi-Fi networks, launch payment flows, create contacts, or execute decoded content. You review a result and choose whether to copy, share, or use an explicit action. External apps and websites have their own terms and privacy policies.

Data sharing and retention

OnScreen QR does not sell decoded scan data. Data leaves the app only when you explicitly share a reviewed result through Android, allow Google Mobile Ads to process an ad request after required consent, or use Google Play and the trusted purchase verifier for a purchase.

Session results are discarded when the session lifecycle ends. Pro history and QR Library data remain locally until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall. Provider retention follows Google Play and Google Mobile Ads policies.

Security

Basic scan processing stays on-device. Persistent Pro history uses Android Keystore-backed encryption. No security measure guarantees absolute protection; only scan, save, or share content you are authorized to access.

Children

OnScreen QR is a general utility and is not directed to children. Do not use it to collect or share a child’s personal information.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when app features, SDKs, data flows, or legal requirements change. The effective date will be updated for a published revision. Privacy requests: [email protected]
